Garden Work
May 15th 2008

On the coolest day of the week, on an overcast Thursday, about a dozen club members gathered in jackets at the Eel River Town Gardens to spruce up the beds.  Members began by pulling weeds, trimming bushes, and thinning out-of-control plants.  Armed with scoop shovels and wheelbarrows, volunteers then spent the next 60 to 90 minutes (until dark) putting down hard wood mulch.  Beth used her pickup truck bed as a table to lay out the great refreshments she brought including killer, 7 Layer Magic Bars.

Speaking of "coolest" everyone loves to see Rick approaching with his camera :-D

Weeding away!  Anybody recognize this town?

This change in this garden is incredible if you had seen it 3 years ago as a jungle of poison ivy.

The soil is better than it used to be, but Bob still came prepared with a serious tool.

Getting dark, time to go home.
